    It Was A Walk to Remember 

     It was an overwhelming show of support for NorthBay’s team at the Walk to End Alzheimer’s event, held on Saturday, Sept. 13. Not only did NorthBay’s four teams field the largest number of walkers – or about one quarter of 3all participants who signed up to walk that day -- but NorthBay participants raised, by early estimates, about $17,000.     Reunion A Dream Come True

    hosp2Meeting your best friend for lunch is something people do every day. But for Ann Walsh, it was a Dream of a Lifetime.  Whisked away in a luxurious town car from her home on Travis Air Force Base Thursday, Aug. 21, Ann and her “soul friend,” Mary Brook Boffa, were treated like royalty at Hurley’s Restaurant in Yountville, where they dined on tender bison, succulent vegetables and enjoyed delicacies such as mussels.

    Café Remodel Is Right on Schedule

    The NorthBay Medical Center Café project is right on schedule, reports Dave Mathews, senior director of plant operations and general services, and should open sometime in September. 


    New MRI Drops on NorthBay Medical Center Campus

     A $1.5 million, state-of-the-art, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was delivered to the NorthBay Medical Center campus on Wednesday (Aug. 13) to be housed in a $1.2 million modular building. Both were lowered out of the sky by a huge crane.  


     Adopted Classrooms Receive Backpacks

    NorthBay Healthcare’s hospitals in Fairfield and Vacaville have been certified by The Joint Commission as Advanced Primary Stroke Centers, in conjunction with The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. “This achievement reflects NorthBay’s dedication toward fostering better outcomes for our patients,” said Rhonda Martin, assistant vice president of nursing operations for NorthBay Healthcare.  


    R2D2 is Almost Here

    r2d2-aThere are just 45 days until the third Annual Ride to Defeat Diabetes (R2D2) takes off from the NorthBay VacaValley Hospital campus.  The ride is a fundraising event for NorthBay Center for Diabetes & Endocrinology, and an opportunity to raise awareness of Solano County’s diabetes crisis. The 10-mile ride is free for children ages 12 and under, and $10 for all others. The 25-mile ride is $25 and the registration fee for the 60-mile ride is $35.     Renowned Surgeon Takes Role at NorthBay

    Ramin E. Beygui, M.D., a cardiovascular surgeon widely recognized for his work and leadership at UCLA Medical Center and Stanford University Medical Center, has accepted the position of medical director of Cardiovascular Services at NorthBay Medical Center.
