Expert Care for the Complex Body

Disorders of the endocrine system can disturb the body’s fine balance, resulting in disease. While primary care physicians can help most patients manage diabetes and hormonal imbalances, diagnosing and treating some complex diabetes and other endocrine system disorders may require a team approach including an endocrinologist, dietitian and nurse educators. Offering the advantage of a coordinated, multi-disciplinary program, the Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology team works closely with patients to restore and maintain a healthy balance.

Patients diagnosed with diabetes often find managing their disease is easier with group support and reinforcement. We help patients meet the challenges of living with diabetes with comprehensive diabetes group classes. Contact our office at (707) 624-7999 for more information.

    What is an Endocrinologist?

An endocrinologist is a doctor trained to diagnose and treat hormone problems and conditions related to malfunction of the endocrine system. These conditions are often complex and involve many systems within your body. An endocrinologist’s special training focuses on restoring the normal balance of hormones in your system to improve specific conditions and general health. Your primary care doctor can refer you to an endocrinologist if an endocrine system disorder is suspected. Some endocrinologists specialize in specific disorders such as diabetes.
