Professional Profile:

As an osteopathic physician who practices osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM), I not only use standard medical tools, I also use my hands to diagnose, treat and prevent illness and injury. During treatment I move your muscles, fascia and joints using a wide variety of techniques including stretching, gentle pressure and resistance. This treatment can be used to reduce pain, promote healing and increase overall mobility.  It can be used to treat a wide range of illnesses, including asthma, migraines and menstrual pain.

OMM can benefit patients of all ages and my practice ranges from newborn babies to senior citizens. I particularly enjoy caring for patients who are age 70 and older, where my hands-on treatment helps them function better in their lives.

While OMM is the primary focus of my practice, it isn’t the answer for all patients. I also offer two other treatment modalities – medical acupuncture and prolotherapy or regenerative medicine.

Medical acupuncture uses very small needles inserted into the body.  I use acupuncture techniques that have been used for centuries and many that have been developed by physicians in the U.S. It can be used as primary or additional treatment for a wide variety of illnesses from pain to fatigue to complex internal medicine issues. Patients may find that they are able to reduce their dependence on medication.

Prolotherapy/regenerative medicine is the injection of substances that promote the growth of normal cells or tissues. This can help in the early stages of arthritis or for strengthening connective tissue insufficiency found in chronic pain or sprains and strains.

I like to spend a significant amount of time with my patients, listening to them and making sure that we both understand their condition and become partners in a plan of care.
