It takes courage and strength to come to therapy. I aim to create as safe and respectful an environment as possible. My style is warm, compassionate, and interactive. In my practice, I work individually with children, adolescents, and adults, as well as with infants and their parents. I have extensive experience working with individuals and families from across all socioeconomic, ethnic, cultural, racial, sexual orientation, gender, and religious backgrounds. I offer care to people who are trying to understand both their personal experiences as well as their responses to life’s everyday complexities and stresses.
My approach to therapy is strength-based, meaning that I work with my patients to recognize their strengths and to identify obstacles that might be preventing them from utilizing these strengths. I provide psychotherapy to people with a wide range of presenting concerns such as depression, anxiety, living with acute and/or chronic illness, adjusting to a new environment, phase of life changes, identity development, LGBTQ issues, recovery from trauma, learning differences, and/or spiritual crises.
A unique part of my practice involves infant-parent psychotherapy. This is a collaborative therapeutic approach to help parents strengthen their relationship with their infant while cultivating new parenting skills. I also have a background in art and at times integrate the creative arts and/or play into the therapy with children and teens. I collaborate regularly with physicians, nurses, developmental specialists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare providers to support my patients in discovering and returning to their baseline level of functioning.
