NorthBay Trauma Center
NorthBay Medical Center in Fairfield hosts Solano County’s first and only Level 3 trauma center.
Prepared to treat the most serious life-threatening and disabling injuries, the trauma center comprises skilled surgeons backed by a full team of specialists at the ready, around the clock, to manage everything from broken bones and dog bites, to victims of vehicle crashes and industrial disasters.
The hospital’s Emergency Department includes the Morgan Gallegos Trauma Room, where state-of-the-art equipment assists physicians and staff in treating critically injured patients.
NorthBay Trauma Center will gradually advance to a Level 2 trauma center, which will add specialized neurosurgical capabilities. The center is part of a wider trauma network which includes John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek and University of California, Davis, Medical Center in Sacramento. Patients are sometimes transferred to those Level 2 trauma centers for treatment of serious brain and neck injuries.
All trauma centers must meet stringent requirements set by the state of California and the American College of Surgeons.
