A group of people place their hands on top of each other as a sign of teamwork. This is the page for Nurse Camp.

Are You Interested in a Nursing Career? Spend four days this summer experiencing the work nurses do. You'll be glad you did!

The 10th annual Nurse Camp is scheduled for June 23-26, 2015 where 30 local high school students will come together at NorthBay Healthcare facilities to experience the world of Nursing. This program is meant to help student learn about nursing and decide if it is the career they want to pursue.

Our camp provides a first-hand look at the nursing profession through the use of on-site demonstrations, hands-on skills labs, interactive presentations, observation of actual patient/nurse interactions, and many other learning activities. Nurses from various hospital and outpatient units collaborate with community groups to provide the "campers" with four days of immersion into the world of nursing.

Our camp provides:

  • Hands-on experience for students exploring nursing as a career
  • Access to nursing staff as role models and to ask questions in a non-threatening environment
  • Exposure for students from health-care studies to the acute care environment of the hospital

Our camp is open to all Solano County High school students. Click here or on the image to the left for requirements and application. Applications must be postmarked by April 30, 2015. If selected, you will be notified by email by May 31, 2015. Questions? Call (707) 646-3322 or send an email to NurseAcademy@northbay.org
