A New Slate of Officers for NorthBay's Toastmasters Club
A new slate of officers has taken the reins of the Talk of NorthBay Toastmasters Club, being sworn in last Wednesday at Green Valley Administration Center by Joelyn Gropp, Area 41 Governor.
Joelyn, director of Facilities Development for NorthBay Healthcare, will continue as president. Others who assumed office were Sue Anderson, sergeant at arms; Lydia Abad, treasurer; Becky Mock, secretary; Kristin Vandergraff, vice president of public relations; Donna Dabeck, vice president of membership; and Frederica Gordon, vice president of education.
Joelyn said she has three goals for the coming year: To earn distinguished club status, to add at least another eight new members by next June, and to have members participate and win in area competitions.
“My journey has been so meaningful,” Joelyn told her organization. “I joined two and a half years ago to improve my speaking skills, but I’ve learned so much more than that. I’ve learned leadership, confidence and I’ve made many friends. I hope this experience will be the same for you.”
The NorthBay Toastmasters club meets every Wednesday in the Green Valley Administration Center at lunchtime and welcomes new members. Members of the general public are welcome to join. For information, contact Joelyn at firstname.lastname@example.org, or any of the officers.
