Pink Heals Tour Visits Solano County
The National Pink Heals Tour makes its second visit to Fairfield on Saturday, Sept. 22. The famous pink fire truck will be parked outside the NorthBay Cancer Center, 1860 Pennsylvania Ave, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to help promote awareness of women’s cancer. Everyone is invited to stop by and sign the truck, view EMS vehicles and participate in a special art event.
The Women’s Health Resource Center will feature “Expressions Through Art,” a workshop led by local artist Jill Faison. Participants will have the opportunity to make a 6-by-6-inch piece of art expressing how cancer has affected them. The art will be on display during the 10th Annual Breast Cancer Seminar in October.
Display tables will provide information about cancer, radiation oncology, the Midnight Sun Foundation, Solano Diagnostics Imaging and the Center for Women’s Health. Blood Source of the Pacific will conduct bone marrow donor screening, which is a simple cheek swab that may help you “Be the Match,” and save a life.
The non-profit Pink Heals Tour crosses the country to raise awareness about women’s cancers and raise money to fight for a cure for breast cancer.
