Resham Chahal, MD
I care for patients on a personal level. As an ophthalmologist, I diagnose, manage and treat problems of the eyes, such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration and cataracts. I offer medical, laser and surgical treatment, as well as referrals to specialists if needed.
Most of my patients are 60 or older. The best part of my day is improving a patient’s quality of life. I listen to patients and address any needs or concerns they have. I operate on Thursdays, and I like going into work on Fridays the best. That’s when you get to see the results of surgery, and I’m thrilled when patients are seeing better than they could before.
If I could give any advice to patients, it would be for them to understand the value of routine eye exams, as well as the necessity of disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment. During an appointment with me, I encourage my patients to ask questions and learn as much as they can about caring for their vision.
I’m a northern California native, graduating from Lowell High School in San Francisco and earning an undergraduate degree at UC Berkeley. I enjoy photography and planting fruits and vegetables. There’s nothing better than eating a fresh tomato or cucumber from your own garden. I also enjoy spending a lot of my time with my family.
