Ana Cherry, MD
I have a special interest in preventive medicine, women's health and adolescent health.
Rather than treat symptoms or conditions, I take a comprehensive approach that considers the whole person. Many of my patients seek ways to tune in to their body's natural defenses rather than deal with the side effects that may come from pills or tablets. I'm more than willing to help them find alternatives to taking medications, if that is their wish.
This is especially true for my female patients who are struggling with symptoms of menopause, such as depression, wild mood swings or hot flashes. Hormonal issues often cause us to feel we've lost control. I can help women harness their power and regain a sense of control over their lives.
To better serve patients who are exploring alternatives to natural birth control or infertility, I have recently completed intensive training in "menstrual awareness," or natural family planning as prescribed through the Creighton Model's Fertility Care System.
Natural family planning has a bit of a stigma, but I am well-versed in it to help patients who follow certain religious practices or just want another way to care for their bodies.
