Western Health Advantage is a health plan providing an alternative to the current version of managed care in Solano, Sacramento, El Dorado, Yolo and western Placer counties. Founded in 1997, WHA is a not-for-profit health plan jointly owned by NorthBay Healthcare, UC Davis Health System, Mercy Healthcare Sacramento and Woodland Healthcare.

This relationship brings together four Northern California health care systems known for their social and ethical commitment to service all members of the community. WHA strives to balance the need to provide quality health care in a compassionate manner with the need to manage the cost of medical care . We’ve created a different kind of health plan to benefit you and your company in so many ways.

• Advantage referrals: Members have the choice of being referred to any of our clinics, hospitals or specialists regardless of their primary doctor’s medical group.
