The endocrine system is an intricate network of
hormones that signal and regulate daily activities, functions and
metabolism. Disorders of the endocrine system can affect the fine
balance that exists in the body; disturbing this balance often results
in disease. Such ailments include diabetes mellitus,
hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, infertility and abnormal metabolism,
like bone metabolism leading to osteoporosis.
Treatment of endocrine and metabolic disorders
requires a team approach including an endocriniologist, dietitians,
nurse educators and dedicated nurses. That's why NorthBay Healthcare
developed the Center for Endocrinology & Diabetes, lead by medical
director, Deborah Murray, M.D.

Dr.
Deborah Murray is board certified
in internal medicine, endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism and a recognized expert in the treatment
of endocrine and metabolic disorders. Dr. Murray completed her internship
and residency in internal medicine at Wilford Hall Medical Center, USAF,
Lackland AFB, TX. She also completed a fellowship in endocrinology
at Wilford Hall Medical Center.
