Trauma
Care: When Skill and Timing Matter Most
NorthBay Medical Center is the base station hospital for upper Solano
County. This means that our specially trained and designated staff give
medical direction to paramedics and other pre-hospital emergency workers
in the crucial minutes before the seriously ill and injured are able to
reach a hospital. Nearly 300 people a year who are seriously injured are
brought directly to the Fairfield hospital from the accident scene,
either by ambulance or helicopter.

The
NorthBay Medical Center and VacaValley Hospital trauma team includes
emergency room physicians and nurses, surgeons, radiologists and several
other specialists, therapists and technicians. The team goes into action
before the accident victim even arrives at the hospital, and is ready to
provide life-saving care as soon as he or she is pushed through the
emergency room doors. This kind of quick, coordinated response is proven
to save lives.
