Hilborn CPC Now Offering Simple X-rays

Sometimes things all come together like clockwork. On the very same day that NorthBay's Occupational Health and Employee Health opened their new offices on the Hilborn Road campus, Radiology and X-Ray services once again became available at the Fairfield Center for Primary Care, just across the parking lot.

An X-ray room — with walls and door lined in lead — was constructed when the Hilborn CPC was originally built several years ago, according to Kevin West, manager of Clinical Operations, but the room has not been used that way for some time. Plans to provide radiology service were revisited when the Care ‘til 8 service began earlier this year. The last piece in the service plan fell into place when Patrick McGraw, limited license radiology tech, was hired earlier this month.

The new service — for chest, spine and extremities — will be available from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. These hours should serve not only Occupational and Employee Health patients, but Center for Primary Care and Care ‘til 8 patients.

“Our goal is to eventually be able to meet the needs of our patient population from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week,” West said.

Patients needing X-rays of the head and abdomen will be sent to Solano Diagnostics Imaging, West said.

Recruitment efforts for an X-ray Tech to provide similar services at the Nut Tree North CPC are currently under way, West noted.
