Cancer Center Earns Full Accreditation

NorthBay Cancer Center has once again earned full accreditation from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC).

The Fairfield center has maintained accreditation since 1996 and was the first, non-military, community-based cancer program in Solano County to earn certification.

“This accreditation demonstrates NorthBay’s dedication to improving survival and quality of life for cancer patients through following the standards and best practices for prevention, research, education, and monitoring our comprehensive quality care,” says Teresa Langley,  director of service line development for oncology.

As a CoC-accredited cancer center, NorthBay Cancer Center takes a multidisciplinary approach to treating cancer as a complex group of diseases that requires consultation among surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, diagnostic radiologists, pathologists and other cancer specialists. This multidisciplinary partnership results in improved patient care.

NorthBay Cancer Center also maintains a cancer registry and contributes data to the National Cancer Data Base, a joint program of the CoC and American Cancer Society. This nationwide oncology outcomes database is the largest clinical disease registry in the world.
