Writing Class Helps to Cope With Grief

Two new classes to help those who are grieving will be offered this summer through NorthBay Hospice and Bereavement.

“Voicing Grief through Writing,” has been designed for people who like to journal, or would like to learn. It will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday evenings, July 12 to Aug. 2. This class will be facilitated by a therapist and two bereavement volunteers.

“De-stressing from Grief” applies a blend of wholesome balancing tools to tackle the downward pull of grief. The class is facilitated by a therapist, yoga and mindfulness teacher and trained bereavement volunteer. The four-session class will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Aug. 9 to 30. It is currently full, but has a waiting list.

All classes are free and are recommended for those who have already had some bereavement counseling. They will be held at 4520 Business Center Drive, Suite 110, in Fairfield.
