Since our campus in Fairfield is centrally located in Solano County, our trauma-trained and experienced staff is best situated to deliver lifesaving care close when every minute matters.
Level II Verification
NorthBay Medical Center was the first hospital in Solano County to achieve distinction as a verified a Level II trauma center by the American College of Surgeons, assuring that critically injured patients the highest level of trauma care available outside of a university medical center.
This means rapid treatment of injured patients. In addition to trauma trained and certified staff, and physicians, general surgeons and anesthesiologists are promptly available to take critically injured patients to a state-of-the-art trauma operating room. Most all adult trauma cases, requiring surgical, neurosurgical, cardiovascular, obstetrical and orthopedic care can be cared for at NorthBay's Trauma Center without delay offering the seriously injured the best chances for recovery.
Children suffering major injuries are stabilized and transferred to specialized pediatric trauma centers in Sacramento or Oakland.
A Complete Team is Ready - Around the Clock
Trauma surgeons, emergency medicine physicians, a full range of surgical sub-specialists, and certified and specially trained emergency and trauma nurses stand ready around the clock to respond. A state-of-the-art trauma operating room is available and ready when emergency surgery is necessary.
When a "Code Trauma" is activated, a comprehensive team assembles - a trauma surgeon, an Emergency Department physician, an anesthesiologist, nurses from the Emergency Department, the Intensive Care Unit and the operating room, a respiratory therapist, and representatives from radiology, the lab, social services and hospital security.
