In trauma care, every second counts. Since 2012, residents and visitors have relied on NorthBay Medical Center's trauma team for high-speed comprehensive medical care at a moment's notice. Severely injured patients' best chance of survival comes within that first "Golden Hour." Since our campus in Fairfield is centrally located in Solano County, our trauma-trained and experienced staff is best situated to deliver lifesaving care close when every minute matters.
In Pursuit of - Level II Designation
NorthBay's Trauma Center was Solano County's first-designated Level III center. It received high praise in 2012 from the American College of Surgeons. With every resident in mind, NorthBay added every advanced speciality needed, including a team of seven neurosurgeons, to seek designation as the county's only Level II trauma center. NorthBay Medical Center, the most complete hospital in the county with the most specialty services, is ideally located so patients don't have to be transported to another hospital in another county for treatment when precious seconds matter.
A Complete Team is Ready - Around the Clock
Trauma surgeons, emergency medicine physicians, a full range of surgical sub-specialists, and certified and specially trained emergency and trauma nurses stand ready around the clock to respond. A state-of-the-art trauma operating room is available and ready when emergency surgery is necessary.
When a "Code Trauma" is activated, a comprehensive team assembles - a trauma surgeon, an Emergency Department physician, an anesthesiologist, nurses from the Emergency Department, the Intensive Care Unit and the operating room, a respiratory therapist, and representatives from radiology, the lab, social services and hospital security.
