Dear NorthBay Medical Group Patient(s)
March 20, 2020

Dr. Shanaz Khambatta, Family MedicineWe understand the impact the coronavirus outbreak is having on your daily lives. We hope that keeping you informed with these updates about the healthcare resources available to you and your family will keep you healthy and safe. We invite you to check our website to learn more about COVID–19 and what's happening locally.

New Urgent Care

We opened our new urgent care center in Solano County this week, our second such facility. The new NorthBay Urgent Care is in Fairfield on Pennsylvania Avenue. Like our Vacaville Urgent Care, patients can walk in or save time by booking an appointment online.

If you have symptoms that include a cough, fever and fatigue and are concerned about coronavirus, we encourage you to make an online Instant Visit through urgent care. At this time testing is limited in Solano County and only available to those who are critically ill or very high risk. You can keep up–to–date on testing recommendations on our website.

Keeping You Safe

To protect the health of our patients and staff, we temporarily modified our hospital visiting policy, restricting all visitors from our facilities, with only a few extraordinary exceptions. An explanation of our new policy is here.

We are strictly limiting visitors in our medical offices, including reception areas. Only children and patients who are unable to make medical decisions or care for themselves may have someone accompany them inside the medical office buildings. Again, we appreciate your support as it's important to protect the health of staff and other patients.

We encourage you to use our video visits as a convenient alternative to office visits, for routine/non–urgent visits to our primary care and specialty practices. We will continue to provide care in our medical offices for anyone with an urgent medical condition.

Shelter at Home

The Solano County Health Department issued a "shelter at home" order Wednesday night. It means residents should stay home, leaving only for necessary reasons. The county's order is in line with Governor Newsom's, which he issued Thursday night. It is critical to curbing the spread of COVID–19 in our community.

We know good health starts with how we take care of ourselves. Wash your hands, don't touch your face, practice social distancing and use proper cough and sneeze etiquette.

Please take time out to touch base with friends or family members who may welcome hearing from you.

Thank you,
