Shop the Jubilee Silent Auction from Your Sofa?

April 20, 2017

It’s true. This year, the Solano Wine & Food Jubilee Silent Auction goes online and is available for your shopping pleasure from May 3 to June 3.

Breaking from decades-long traditions, the Jubilee Silent Auction items will be available for bidding online and open to a much wider audience than just Jubilee ticketholders.

In years’ past, ticketholders would circle around tables at the event, loaded with elaborate gift baskets, tickets to highly sought-after sporting events and exotic vacations or spa experiences, sparkly jewels, movie and sports memorabilia, bottles of award-winning wines or wine tasting tours, and all sorts of one-of-a-kind items, during a two-plus hour shopping window.

Now, shoppers can use their smartphone or computer to browse among a list of these and more auction items at their leisure, while sitting at home, on the bus or train, or in a coffee shop. The Silent Auction opens for bidding two weeks before the Jubilee and closes two weeks after the event, which will be held on Saturday, May 20 at the Harbison Event Center at the Nut Tree in Vacaville.

What hasn’t changed is who benefits from funds raised through the auction. All proceeds will continue to support the programs of NorthBay Hospice & Bereavement, according to Brett Johnson, president of NorthBay Healthcare Foundation.

To browse or bid on the Solano Wine & Food Jubilee Silent Auction, go to or use the NorthBay C2C app, that can be downloaded from Google Play or the Apple App store.

Photos and descriptions of auction items, as well as bidding, payment and delivery instructions will be live on May 3.

To donate items for the Silent Auction, go to the site and click on the Silent Auction link to fill out the submission form.

Items should be dropped off at Luminous Media Group, 318-C Main Street in Vacaville, on Monday, Wednesday or Friday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

For questions, call Colleen Knight, program coordinator for NorthBay Healthcare Foundation at (707) 646-3131.

The 30th annual Solano Wine & Food Jubilee will be held at the Harbison Event Center at the Nut Tree at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 20. Tickets are $75 for those age 21 and older; they will be $125 on the day of the event if still available. For more information or to purchase tickets, go to
