Sponsors Feted at Open That Bottle Night

January 17, 2018

This post was originally written for the 2018 Open that Bottle Night. The 2019 Open that Bottle Night will take place on Saturday, February 23rd at 5:00 p.m. Please RSVP by contacting Susan Cianci at (707) 646-3131 or at SCianci@NorthBay.org.

It promises to be a night filled with glitz, glamour and generous portions of gratitude, and the only way to experience it yourself is to become one of the largest supporters of the Solano Wine & Food Jubilee.

It's Open That Bottle Night, an elegant precursor to the 31st annual Solano Wine & Food Jubilee. The invitation-only gala will be held on Feb. 24, and serves as a way for NorthBay Healthcare Foundation to honor and thank those who have agreed to become sponsors of the Solano Wine & Food Jubilee. The Jubilee is Solano County's largest fund raiser and it is a benefit for NorthBay Hospice & Bereavement. This year's Jubilee will be held May 19 at the Nut Tree's Harbison Event Center.

There is still time to become a sponsor. Contact Susan Cianci, NorthBay Healthcare Foundation program coordinator, at scianci@NorthBay.org, or call (707) 646-3131 for details.

Open That Bottle Night - initially created by wine columnists from the Wall Street Journal - has become an internationally recognized celebration held on the last Saturday in February. It's a time for friends and family to come together to share memories and that one bottle of wine that might otherwise have been considered too special to open.

In Solano County, Open That Bottle Night will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Fairfield. The evening gets under way at 5 p.m. with hors d'oeuvres and a pouring of wines from Suisun Valley. Later, guests will be seated for a four-course wine and food pairing, prepared by Chef Peter Garcia of Ahi's Steak and Chop House.

After dessert, auctioneer Joe Gates kicks off a Live Auction that features such things as vacations to exotic locales, an instant Wine & Food Jubilee wine cellar, highly sought-after tours and luxury suite tickets to sporting events, among other items.

For more information about the Jubilee, go to www.wineandfoodjubilee.org.
