Nosher’s Heaven at 31st Solano Wine & Food Jubilee

April 09, 2018

From tacos to sweets and from barbecue to pasta, your taste buds will have a chance to sample it all - and just about everything in between - at the 31st annual Solano Wine & Food Jubilee.

Nearly 40 of the area's best and most sought-after restaurants and caterers will be represented at this year's Jubilee. For some - such as Sonoma Harvest Olive Oil and Winery, Heritage House and Fatimah's Mediterranean Cuisine, it will be the first time Jubilee ticketholders will be able to sample their offerings. For others - such as Merchant & Main Bar & Grill - it will be the 31st time. Owner Bob Tooke has been an ardent Jubilee supporter - a fundraising event for the programs of NorthBay Hospice & Bereavement - since its inception.

Francie Bryan, restaurant chair for the Jubilee committee, has been hard at work for many months visiting area restaurants and encouraging their management teams to sign up to serve at the event. Her tenacity and enthusiasm has resulted in the largest number of restaurants agreeing to participate in several years.

Ticketholders can expect to see such old favorites as Roline's Uniquely Filipino, Rubio's and Los Reyes Restaurante, to name a few. Back after a few years' absence will be BJ's Brewery. Look for Fuso, Ironwood American Bistro and Chianti Osteria Fine Italian Dining to be among others who will serve on May 19. To see a full list, go to www.wineandfoodjubilee.org.

The restaurants and caterers join a list of nearly 30 beer labels and craft breweries that also plan on pouring, as well as nearly 30 wineries. They include many from the Green Valley Appellation, including Wooden Valley Winery, Tenbrink Winery, Vezer Family Vineyard, King Andrews Vineyards and Plough Family Vineyards, to name a few.

This year's event also features a return of the Silent Auction, entertainment by the Vino Bandidos and dancing to The Time Bandits.

Presenting Sponsors are Al and Patt Shaw, Dr. Lee and Valerie Freeman, Heidi Y. Campini, Dennis and Alex Landis, the Wise Auto Group, Western Health Advantage, DPR Construction and Paradise Valley Estates.

The 31st Jubilee is set to get underway at 6:30 on Saturday, May 19 at the Harbison Event Center at the Nut Tree in Vacaville. Tickets are now $100 (plus a small fee) for those over age 21 or $125 on the day of the event, if still available. They can be purchased in advance by going to www.wineandfoodjubilee.org. For information, call (707) 646-3133.
