New Face For Our Trauma Blog

The 3 Ds sum me up: Dedicated, Daring and Down to Earth!

I have been a dedicated employee of NorthBay Medical Center for the last 15 years. I started out (and spent the first 14 ½ years) in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) where I was able to come in contact with many of you. My new adventure as an EMT is to serve as the Trauma Injury Prevention and Outreach Technician where I am excited to continue those relationships and build new ones with my fellow community partners.

I love people and am passionate about seeing them healthy and whole in every way - mind, body and soul - and this new role encourages that.

I was born and raised in Solano County so my passion for this county runs deep and I am dedicated to provide the best service to the people here.

My connection with NorthBay is also deep. My loving husband is also an EMT at NorthBay Medical Center. When we aren't working, we love spending time with our family (which includes four older children and six grandchildren), helping others achieve their potential, and seeing/experiencing the world and all it has to offer.

As I dare to venture into the world of blogging, this space will be a venue for me to share my knowledge on injury prevention and trauma care with practical advice and tips as well as keep you informed of exciting community events that you will want to join us in.

I am just a regular person with issues like everyone else but I have been through a number of circumstances that have helped shape my view on life to see the needs in others and want to help. I am dedicated to helping prevent injuries which are sustained by way of many mechanisms but ultimately, it is up to us as individuals to take the advice and make the change. Dare with me to be a more informed, educated and participating individual to help better your life and the lives around you.

I am dedicated in doing my part in my community and I am daring you to do the same.

The definition of community is:

  1. a group of people living together in one place, especially one practicing common ownership,
  2. a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals,
  3. a group of interdependent organisms (or people) of different species (races, ethnicity, religion) growing or living together in a specified habitat.

This is our community, let's do our part to make it great!

As Michael Jackson's song says, "I'm starting with the man in the mirror, I'm asking him to change his ways…. If you want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make that change."

I look forward to interaction and communications with the community via this avenue so if you have questions concerning the community events or something posted please ask them.

Solano County is an amazing place to live with so many resources and fun activities for its people and I am excited to get that information out to you stay posted for more to come!
