Professional Profile

I absolutely love interacting with patients and doing everything I can to ensure they receive quality care so they can move toward feeling better and being healthy.

That focus really started for me when I was young. Growing up I was always taking care of everyone, tending their wounds. My father used to call me “Nurse Nightengale.” I think entering the health care field was just a natural progression for my personality.

I was pre-med in college but decided against a career as a physician. I worked in a lab for about 4 years and realized that while I loved that job, I am a people person. So I decided to pursue a career in nursing, which ultimately transformed to becoming a nurse practitioner – after some gentle nudging from a lot of people who know me.

The role of a nurse practitioner is special because we are permitted close contact with patients and we are able to provide compassionate care over a long period. I also view our role as augmenting the care provided by the physicians, to help increase access to care in a timely manner.

If there is one thing I want my patients to know about me as a caregiver, it is that I may not always have the answers but I promise to take the time to listen and do my utmost to ensure the best possible outcome.
