Our human body is a miracle and wanting to know the human body and how it works and heals was what initially inspired me to pursue medical training.
Working as an Internal Medicine specialist, I saw many patients with complications arising out of diabetes. I wanted to help patients take care of diabetes even before they had any other related complications. This along with watching my loved ones deal with diabetes-related complications, inspired me to take diabetes head on and pursue further training. I am now a board certified internist and a fellowship trained diabetologist.
I believe in self empowering patients through proper education and providing them with effective tools to manage diabetes. I am focused on providing professional, compassionate care and think of myself as an empathetic doctor who is a good listener and committed to the art of medicine.
I want my patients to know that I understand what it is to live with diabetes, I respect them, and I will listen to them as I am committed to proving good care via the most effective tools.
I know I have connected with patients well when a patient tells me that they believe that diabetes is manageable and are ready to take it head on. When I see patients’ A1C improve and their glucose meters/glucose log book show improved glucose readings, then I know that my recommendations, diagnoses and guidance are producing the desired results.
When I am not at work, I love reading and taking walks in nature. Listening to the sounds of water, humming of birds and seeing nature as it blooms brings me joy. I also enjoy playing board games with my children.
