Carol Darwish, MD
OB/GYN, HospitalistI specialize in Obstetrics/Gynecology because I want to be a doctor for other women, to teach them about their bodies and empower them to make the best choices in their lives.
I’ve always been fascinated with physiology and discovery of how the body functions. I am a caring and empathetic physician who enjoys listening and talking with my patients. My patients tell me that they like that I take the time necessary to address their concerns and answer their questions.
I recognize that the patient-physician connection is important in health care. I am a skilled physician who works diligently to care for the patients, and whenever possible, create treatment plans with the use of shared decision-making. I enjoy connecting with others – with patients and their families, staff, colleagues – and trying to make a positive impact on them while continuously learning.
As a hospitalist at NorthBay Healthcare, the cases I handle include labor and delivery, along with emergency services for those dealing with acute pelvic pain, acute hemorrhage, acute infection, and acute bleeding from the vagina. I am a minimally invasive surgeon with expertise in laparoscopy and vaginal surgery.
When I am not working, I enjoy being outside. I like to do Yoga, hike, ski, bike, spend time with my family, my dog, and hang out at the beach. I enjoy dancing and live music, especially music from other countries and in different languages.
