For me, medicine is the most exciting job in the world. I was initially attracted to medicine because I was interested to know how the human body, which is the most sophisticated machine, works and then how to try to fix it when things go wrong. I love that very much.
I look at my patient as a whole, and not as a specific problem. It's important to me to develop a good relationship with my patients. I want them to feel that they are in good hands, and I am listening to them, and together we will come up with a good plan for their well-being.
I am most happy if a patient has followed the recommendations and sees good results; when their blood sugar and blood pressure are better and they have a smile on their face and feel comfortable and know that they are in good hands. That is the most rewarding moment. It's when you know as a doctor that you were there and were able to help them feel better and be able to continue with their lives.
I came to California to be closer to my daughter, who is a synchronized swimmer on the Olympic squad. I had heard about NorthBay Healthcare and spoke to people and ultimately chose to be a part of this family.
I also enjoy being a good father for two boys, a good husband and in my free time I enjoy hiking, gardening and singing.
