About Madhav Goyal
When I was growing up, watching my family members treat patients at their clinic in India inspired me to study medicine. The way they treated patients - with such kindness and respect - formed an impression on me as a child and got me interested in becoming a doctor.
After graduating from medical school and earning my Master of Public Health (MPH), I didn't want to specialize in just one thing. I wanted to become an "everyday doctor."
As an internist, I help patients deal with all types of conditions. Some of these might include heart disease, diabetes, cholesterol or mental health issues. As a researcher, I believe in evidence-based medicine. I want to give you the information you need to make the best decisions for yourself.
I'm not afraid to go beyond the boundaries of traditional Western medicine. I'm a minimalist when prescribing medicines and doing tests. I believe that inside each of us, there is a set of experiences and values that help contribute to our well being. Drugs and operations don't solve every medical issue.
For me, listening to your needs is important. In some cases, I also like to talk to your family members because they might have important things to say or provide input when we're developing your care plan. Whatever the case, I want to encourage you to identify and change behaviors that can help make you healthier.
What's most rewarding to me about my job is interacting with patients and helping them get through difficult times with whatever condition they are experiencing.
