This video goes over the process of setting up a video visit with a NorthBay Healthcare provider.

At NorthBay Medical Group, we’re working hard to design care that fits into your busy life. That’s why we’re pleased to begin offering video visits with our providers.

Video visits provide a secure way for you to have real-time virtual appointments with your provider from the safety of your phone, tablet, or computer at home.

Scheduling a video visit: what to expect

Primary Care Patients

  1. Contact the Call Center to request a video visit — or — your provider will recommend video visit as an option.
  2. Our Patient Representative will provide you with upcoming appointment offerings. Once your appointment time is selected you will be scheduled with a NorthBay Center for Primary Care clinician.
  3. Patients scheduled will be directed to this page to learn more about the process as well as technical requirements.
  4. Patients scheduled for a video visit will be contacted by our Navigator 24-48 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time. They will be able to answer any questions you may have. If your video visit is scheduled the day of, you will be contacted just prior to your appointment.

Specialty Care Patients

  1. Your provider will recommend a video visit for your next appointment.
  2. Our Patient Representative will provide you with upcoming appointment offerings. Once you choose a date and time, you will be scheduled for a video visit with your provider.
  3. You will be directed to this page to learn more about what to expect and how to prepare for your video visit, including the technical requirements.
  4. One business day prior to your scheduled video visit appointment, you will be contacted by a member of your provider’s care team to answer any questions you may have and ensure you are set for your upcoming visit.
  5. If your video visit is scheduled as a same-day appointment, a member of your provider’s care team will contact you 10 minutes prior to your scheduled visit time to answer any questions.

Video visit requirements

Before scheduling a video visit with your primary care doctor, please make sure:

  • You are a primary or specialty care patient with NorthBay.
  • You have signed up on our patient portal, My NorthBay Doc.
  • You provide us with a current contact phone number so we can reach you prior to your scheduled visit.
  • You have either a desktop or laptop computer (Windows or Mac) or mobile device (Android or Apple).
  • You have Internet connection – broadband is best.
  • Your device has speaker(s), a microphone & web camera
  • If you are using a mobile device, you must also download and install the HealtheLife app (available on the Apple App Store or Android Google Play).

Prior to your appointment

    Login in to MyNorthBayDoc, click on appointments and download the plugin at least 30 minutes before your appointment is scheduled to start (for Safari only). If you are using a mobile device, make sure to download the HealtheLife app first. Test your connection before your upcoming video visit appointment. A link displays on the Appointment List View and the Details View page that can direct users to the new Test Connection page.

    Once the plugin is installed, you can check-in on the appointments screen up to 30 minutes before your appointment time.
