Patients, Families, Community Invited to Share Their Experiences
NorthBay Healthcare invites patients, their family members, the community and its staff to share stories about care provided at our facilities, according to Jennifer Tudor, R.N., Magnet Program director.
It’s part of NorthBay Healthcare’s effort to gain redesignation as a Magnet organization with the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
The designation will cover both NorthBay Medical Center and NorthBay VacaValley Hospital, as well as the NorthBay Cancer Center, NorthBay Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine, NorthBay Health at Home & Hospice and The Surgery Center at NorthBay VacaValley.
NorthBay first earned the honor in 2014, although the official award was presented in October, 2015.
“The designation is an international recognition for nursing excellence,” said Jennifer. “There are fewer than 500 hospitals in the world that are Magnet-recognized.”
Anyone may send comments via email and direct mail. All comments received by phone (866) 588-3301 (toll free) must be followed up in writing to the Magnet Program Office. Comments must be received by the Magnet Program by June 14.
Magnet appraisers will arrive on campuses June 24-26.
At that time, staff will get a chance to share during the site visit with in-person interviews and during tours. A community forum will also be scheduled. Watch NorthBay.org for more information.
