For the seventh year, a NorthBay Healthcare team of drivers joined dozens of civic leaders and more than a few airmen from Travis Air Force Base for some friendly competition and fundraising fun at Driven Raceway, all to raise money for The Leaven, an after-school tutoring program that targets at-risk youth. Getting behind the wheel for NorthBay were drivers Brian “Code Blue” Johnson, R.N., (above, left to right) and Heather “Trauma Mama” Venezio, R.N., both from NorthBay Emergency Services. They were joined by The Leaven executive director Mark Lillis and Jerry Wilcox, director of Diagnostic Imaging. Jerry couldn’t drive this yearDrivers make their way around the track at Driven Raceway. because of other obligations, but he made the effort to come for a bit, because it was his Leadership Today class  that launched the initial fundraiser for The Leaven seven years ago. “We started something great all those years ago, and it’s great to see that it’s still going,” said Jerry. NorthBay also supports The Leaven by hosting a center on its Dana Drive property, across the street from NorthBay Medical Center.
