Director is Named Planner

NorthBay Healthcare Director of Real Estate Chris Matthews was sworn in to a four-year term on the Fairfield Planning Commission during a Fairfield City Council meeting Aug. 21.

Chris was appointed by Mayor Harry Price and interviewed by councilmembers Chuck Timm and Rick Vaccaro along with 10 other applicants. He and Jerome Childs have accepted a four-year term that runs through June 30, 2023.

“I have had the good fortune of living in several major cities during my career, including Denver, Dallas, Salt Lake City and Tokyo, Japan. In these metro areas, I have seen the good, the bad and the ugly of poor planning and growth for growth’s sake only,” said Chris. “I am excited to be selected out of a large field of applicants to be part of the Fairfield Planning Commission, where I will put my perspective to work with my fellow commissioners and the City Council to help create long-term, sustainable new developments that will enhance this great community.”
