Donations of food for health care workers came from a variety of sources during the past few weeks — including an NFL player.

NorthBay Healthcare’s front line workers — the Environmental Services Staff — were treated to a Panera Bread lunch on April 24, as a gesture of appreciation donated by Jason Verrett of the San Francisco 49ers and the FEEVA Family Foundation. The meals were delivered by his brother, Warren.

“Why did we decide to treat the Environmental Services team? WE NEED THEM! This is a team effort and everyone’s role is important,” Warren said. “My brother and I know the impact of this virus and realized that it takes a full team to prevent the spread. We know the clinical staff is doing an amazing job, but wanted to acknowledge the Environmental Services Department for the important role they play, too.”

Jason, a cornerback for the San Francisco 49ers and former Rodriquez High School student, created the FEEVA Family Foundation to serve youth and young adults in all backgrounds in the community. FEEVA is Jason’s nickname, but is also the acronym for Fulfilling Encouraging and Embracing Vulnerable Areas.
