A number of NorthBay Healthcare physicians have stepped into the spotlight on a variety of media platforms in recent weeks to help get the message out on multiple topics, from the safety of our Emergency Departments to managing depression and anxiety to offering helpful hints for stressed-out parents dealing with a seemlingly endless shelter-at-home order.

Seth Kaufman, M.D., Chief Medical Officer, was interviewed by morning anchor John Young on KUIC 95.3 FM, talking about how safe it is to return to care in the Emergency Departments at NorthBay VacaValley Hospital and NorthBay Medical Center.

He is also planning a Facebook Live chat coming up in May.

Greg Warner, D.O., infectious disease specialist and medical director for Infection Prevention, participated in an hour-long discussion hosted on Zoom by the Solano County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, fielding questions and sharing his COVID-19 knowledge.

A number of physicians have taken to videos to share their expertise with their patients and the community.

Pediatrician Bruce Hewett, M.D., has two videos on NorthBay.org’s COVID-19 page in which he shares shelter-at-home tips for parents.

Clinical Psychologist Corinna Press, PsyD, has offered a series of videos with tips on how to cope with depression and anxiety during these uncertain times.

“The need to consider both our physical and emotional care is as important now as it ever was, perhaps even more so,” she said.

“Although we do not have control of the virus, we do have some control in how we respond to the impact the virus has on our lives,” she said.

Cardiologist Milind Dhond, M.D., offers a six-part lesson plan on how to successfully use meditation to relax and “achieve bliss” (Lesson 5.)

Orthopedic Surgeon and Medical Director of the Joint Replacemen Program Andrew Brooks, M.D., filmed a video for all his patients and anyone considering joint replacement surgery to share what they need to do to stay focused and prepared for surgery.

He offered links to exercise videos and encouraging words.

“We are here at NorthBay, ready and willing to assist you during this difficult time,” he said.

Links to all the these special physician videos can be found at NorthBay.org/docadvice. They are also being posted, one at a time, on social media networks, including Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
