Kathleen Diaz and husband Michael welcomed Lucas Ethan Diaz into the world at 7:09 a.m. Jan. 1, making him the first NorthBay Healthcare baby of 2021. Lucas weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces and measured 20 inches in length. He is the first child of the Vacaville couple. Kathleen is no stranger to NorthBay, she works as a case manager for NorthBay Hospice. She was nearly 39 weeks pregnant when Dr. Rachel Villalon decided to induce labor. “I was fully dialated by 12:30 a.m., and then pushed for five hours before they decided to take the baby by Casearian section.” Kathleen said she was very impressed with everyone who works in Women and Children’s Services. “They’re just amazing, awesome,” she said. “Everyone was excellent.”
