Director is Vacaville’s Employee of the Year

Posted: February 11, 2021

Mary Jameson, director of NorthBay Urgent Care and Center for Primary Care in Vacaville, was selected by the Vacaville Chamber of Commerce as its Employee of the Year for 2021.

Sitting next to her nominator, Damaris Valera, assistant vice president of Primary Care, during a break from the hectic vaccination station at Green Valley Administration Center, Mary was presented her award during a virtual ceremony.

Just after a Powerpoint slide announced her as the winner, Daniel Arenas of Holiday Inn Express, the 2020 winner, walked into the conference room with her crystal trophy.

Mary was one of eight employees nominated by their businesses for outstanding work.

Daramis explained how Mary has gone above and beyond the call of duty in her role at NorthBay,

“Mary was about to open a second NorthBay Urgent Care facility in Fairfield when the global pandemic took hold in March. Not only did Mary and her team open that facility, but she quickly turned both urgent care centers into safe COVID-19 testing stations for patients, while at the same time maintaining urgent care for patients with other diverse needs.

“I have never worked with anyone that’s so dedicated, so committed and she truly represents what a servant leader is all about,” she said.

Mary was surprised and humbled to receive the award.

“I’m appreciative to my employer and the nomination and the opportunity to work for the company I work for and to serve the community I’ve been able to serve,” she said. “The past year has been an incredible opportunity, especially through our outreach at the urgent care, that really extended into being able to go into some of the local nursing homes and to help them help their residents to stay healthy and to really help the whole community come together and receive the medical care that’s timely, even continuing now with vaccinations.”
