Readers of the Daily Republic Newspaper have once again voted NorthBay Medical Center the Best Hospital in the county in the paper’s recent “Readers’ Choice” special section.

It is the seventh year in a row for the honor. The annual award was published Sunday, March 7, and included a story and photo looking back at 2020, noting that the global COVID-19 pandemic hit just as NorthBay Healthcare was ready to celebrate its 60th year of serving the medical needs of Solano County residents.

“It changed the landscape in more ways than one,” the story quoted NorthBay Healthcare President and CEO Konard Jones. “But the courageous team of health care workers and physicians did what they do best: They came together to deliver compassionate care and advanced medicine through the greatest challenge of our lifetime.”

The article included details on NorthBay’s care of COVID-19 patients throughout the past year, including summer and post-holiday surges, as well as ongoing efforts to vaccinate frontline workers and local residents, noting that despite the pandemic, NorthBay “never abandoned its mission to serve those with health care needs” in its locations across the region.

“We’ve had to be nimble, to figure new, safe ways to deliver care to those in need. Our entire workforce, from our clinical care teams to our business offices have all risen to the challenges at hand and figured out new and creative ways to get the job done,” the article quotes Konard. “It hasn’t been easy, but it shows our resilience and determination. And that’s why I believe we’re going to emerge from this stronger in many ways. It’s just a matter of time.”
