Video Message Celebrates NorthBay Guild Volunteers

Posted: April 16, 2021

To honor National Volunteer Week April 18-24, NorthBay Healthcare President and CEO Konard Jones teamed up with NorthBay Healthcare Group President Aimee Brewer to record a video message to NorthBay’s 200-plus volunteers.

“NorthBay got its start more than 60 years ago because volunteers banded together to raise funds to start a hospital in Fairfield,” said Konard. “Fast forward to today – NorthBay Healthcare has two hospitals, primary and specialty care clinics, Urgent Care centers, and ambulatory surgery center, and more than 2,500 employees who bring compassionate care and advanced medicine to our community in Solano County every day. None of this would be possible without our volunteers, who are truly at the heart of our operation.”

Aimee explained that while the COVID-19 pandemic forced NorthBay to put the Guild in hiatus, it in no way diminished the organization’s respect and appreciation for the Guild’s many contributions.

“We can’t wait to have them back in our hospitals, taking care of patients, and in the community, supporting our Hospice & Bereavement programs,”

That said, Aimee acknowledged that it’s still too soon for in-person meetings. “We must continue to be diligent,” she said. “There are a lot of variants out there and we must be abundantly cautious with our timing.”

Still, both Aimee and Konard are looking forward to a bright future with volunteers fully returned some day soon.

“Even though we can’t be together today to celebrate, please accept our humble thanks for all you do to make the world – especially NorthBay’s world – a better place for everyone!” said Konard. “Please trust that after we put this pandemic to rest, we will get together and celebrate in person, the NorthBay Way! Happy National Volunteer Week!”
