For the second year in a row, NorthBay Medical Group is one of just a few physician organizations statewide to receive the 2021 Excellence in Healthcare Award from the Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA) for top performance on clinical quality, patient experience and cost measures.

In addition, the organization also honored NorthBay Medical Group with an award for achieving the 90th percentile or above in IHA’s patient experience measurements.

“NorthBay is thrilled to be recognized for the work we do to provide the most advanced medicine and compassionate care in the region,” said Wayne Gietz, NorthBay Healthcare Group president. “We are committed to continuously improving the care we provide to our patients each and every day, and will continue to work hard on behalf of our patients to achieve these results.”

NorthBay Medical Group comprises 200-plus highly trained primary, specialty and hospital-based providers. Its breadth and depth of services makes it the most comprehensive medical group in Solano County, from oncology, neuroscience, and cardiovascular to orthopedics, robotic surgery and sports medicine.

“We are honored to be recognized for improving healthcare quality, making sure patients have a good care experience and working to keep care affordable,” added NorthBay President and CEO B. Konard Jones.

A key component of IHA’s statewide Align. Measure. Perform. (AMP) Program, the Excellence in Healthcare Award recognizes provider organizations that perform in the top 50 percent in all three major AMP areas: clinical quality, patient experience, and total cost of care.

Of the nearly 200 provider organizations statewide participating in the AMP Program, NorthBay is one of only 21 organizations to attain the Excellence in Healthcare Award performance standards for 2021, based on AMP results for measurement year 2020. The award was presented Nov. 3 at IHA’s Annual Stakeholder Conference.

IHA President and CEO Jeff Rideout, M.D., commended the top performers, saying, “IHA is proud to recognize provider organizations that are truly leading the way to high-quality, affordable, patient-centered care.”
