NorthBay Health CEO Plans Retirement at End of 2023

Board begins national search for successor, plans seamless transition
B. Konard Jones, President and CEO of NorthBay Health, announced plans to retire effective Dec. 31, 2023, after nearly two decades leading Solano County’s only locally managed non-profit health care system.
Jones joined NorthBay in 1995. After serving nine years as Vice President of Human Resources, he left to start a medical supply distribution company and serve as a vice president at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland, before returning to NorthBay in 2015 as President of the Hospital Division, then being named President and CEO in 2017.
He cited personal family reasons for his decision.
“This is one of the hardest decisions I've made in my life,” Jones said. “Although I knew this day would come, waiting for the ‘right time’ was the challenge. I accept that there is no right time. Instead, I made this choice because I want to spend time with my family while we are all healthy enough to truly enjoy it.”
NorthBay Health’s Board of Directors, with the assistance of NorthBay’s Vice President of Human Resources, will conduct a national search for a successor, planning to select Jones’ replacement in time to enable a seamless transition.
“We are grateful and proud of Konard’s stewardship – his calm and effective presence has been the definition of what NorthBay is,” said Mark Sievers, Chair of the NorthBay Health Board of Directors. “We will seek a candidate who believes, as Konard does, in our independence, our community and in our care.”
“NorthBay has been my home away from home,” Jones added. “I have had the absolute honor of working with those I consider my extended family and to be a part of the team that served our community heroically during the global pandemic.”
