Tree of Memories Event, Grief Workshops on Tap
NorthBay Hospice & Bereavement has several avenues in place to help people who are grieving the loss of a loved one this holiday season.
First, NorthBay Hospice holds an annual Tree of Memories event to provide people with an opportunity to remember their friends and loved ones during a thoughtfully designed ceremony.
The NorthBay Hospice Tree of Memories observation takes place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, at NorthBay Healthcare’s Green Valley Administration Center, 4500 Business Center Drive in Fairfield.
The two-hour ceremony includes music, an invocation and reading of names, followed by light refreshments.
Guests will also be invited to decorate a tree with butterfly-themed ornaments to honor their loved ones.
Also, a special keepsake ornament — made of turquoise-colored glass and specially designed for NorthBay — can be ordered in advance by contacting Tim Johnson in the NorthBay Healthcare Foundation, at (707) 646-3132, or at A $20 donation per keepsake ornament is suggested.
Secondly, NorthBay Hospice & Bereavement also sponsors Holiday Support group sessions.
Six holiday support sessions will be held on Tuesday evenings from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Nov. 11 through Dec. 16. The meetings are free and will be held at the NorthBay Hospice & Bereavement Center, 4520 Business Center Drive in Fairfield. Please call if you plan to attend.
