New Blogs, New Writers Join Team

Two new blogs and two that are returning with new authors after a hiatus are now being published weekly on NorthBay.org.

“Your Wellness,” is the title of a new blog being written each week by Public Affairs staff.
Based on the 2017 “Your Wellness, It’s Why We’re Here” theme NorthBay Healthcare has embraced, the blog is focused on health topics and information from NorthBay’s excellent cadre of health care professionals.

NorthBay’s nutrition experts including Nutrition Services Director Kathleen Shafer and her staff along with Registered Dietitian Laura Hitt will take turns writing “Nourish,” each week.
The blog is focused on healthy eating topics with educational information, tips and advice as well as an occasional recipe.

A third blog is familiar to regular readers of NorthBay’s website. “Spare Yourself the Trauma” launched several years ago and was that halted when its author left NorthBay. Brenna Benjamin, injury prevention and outreach technician with the NorthBay Trauma team, has picked up the blog and writes each week on preventive safety measures and trauma care.

Brenna will be familiar to many. She has been with NorthBay Healthcare for 15 years, serving most recently as a unit clerk in the NICU before taking on the injury prevention role.

In addition, the Living With Diabetes 101 blog has returned with a new author, diabetes educator Estee Mamio.
