Holiday Support and Celebration for Stroke Survivors

Stroke survivors, caregivers, family members and friends are invited to celebrate their accomplishments during a special Christmas party and anniversary celebration, set for Dec. 19.

The "New Beginnings" stroke support group has been meeting monthly for 15 years, and facilitators are using the occasion to not only celebrate the season, but the many years of working together. The event runs from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at NorthBay VacaValley Health Plaza, 1010 Nut Tree Road, Suite 240. According to Beth Gladney, MSN, CCRN, SCRN, and Stroke Program Coordinator, the group provides a great opportunity for survivors and caregivers alike to get the support they need from people who understand what they've been through.

The meetings are usually held every third Tuesday from 10 to 11:30 a.m., and are designed to offer a helpful exchange of resources and information. Occasionally guest speakers will be invited to attend.
