NorthBay ‘Talk’ Has ‘Super’ Open House

Talk of NorthBay Toastmasters hosted an open house for about 25 people, sharing information about the club, its goals and the benefits that come from joining the group.

Talk of NorthBay club members Tamuri Richardson and NorthBay Online/Social Media Specialist Robin Miller were the keynote speakers for the event, which was held at the Green Valley Administration Center and featured a potluck lunch and door prizes.

Tamuri spoke of the benefits of practicing public speaking in Toastmasters, noting the program's success at helping build confidence and leadership skills. Social Media/Online Specialist Robin Miller speaks during the Toastmasters Open House.

Robin presented the speech that won first place in the District 39 Toasmasters humorous speech contest last fall - a fun talk on the super powers one develops raising children.

In addition, NorthBay's own Tracy Clontz, from Health Information Management, and Dean Pawley, from IT Financial Systems, gave Table Topics (1-minute speeches) on how they became Toastmasters and what they have gained as members.
