Community Leaders Share Holiday Spirit with Leaven

Posted: January 5, 2019

NorthBay Healthcare and community leaders from across Fairfield played the role of Santa’s elves Dec. 13 as they delivered holiday joy to The Leaven on Dana Drive.

Youngsters at the center were treated to crafts and snacks and listened as Fairfield Mayor Harry Price and County Supervisor JimFairfield police and fire officials help to deliver some holiday cheer at The Leaven on Dan Drive. Spering read “The Night Before Christmas.” Following the reading, the pair lead the kids in a countdown before lighting the facility’s Christmas tree.

Those on hand encouraged the youngsters to keep up the hard work they’ve displayed throughout the year, and NorthBay’s own Stacy Andersen, executive assistant, filled in for Vice President of Public Affairs Steve Huddleston, to thank The Leaven for all they do.

The Dana Drive location offers youth a safe place to go after school when parents are still at work. Operating costs to run the program are covered by NorthBay Healthcare through the Community Benefit Program and The Leaven staff operates the center.
