Robotic surgery is a type of minimally invasive surgery; procedures are performed through tiny incisions which means a faster recovery, fewer complications, less pain and scaring than traditional open surgery. The daVinci robotic surgery platform allows surgeons to perform complex procedures with more precision, flexibility and control than is possible with conventional techniques.
About robotic surgery
NorthBay Healthcare, the first surgical program in the area to invest surgical robotics, recently acquired in the latest da Vinci Xi system, which allows surgeons to perform the most complex and delicate procedures with exceptional precision. The da Vinci xi robotic surgical system includes a camera arm and mechanical arms with surgical instruments attached to them. The surgeon controls the arms while seated at a computer console near the operating table while the rest of the surgical team is at the patient’s bedside.
The robotic system is similar to a video game with 3D high definition, where the surgeon’s movements on the console are translated into very precise movements of the robotic arms. This amazing technology provides your surgeon with better view of the operating field, better access to the surgical site and greater dexterity which means a faster recovery and fewer complications for patients.
