More information regarding testing and examination:

If you have symptoms or have had an exposure to COVID-19, please follow the steps below to get tested:

  1. Schedule an appointment online and complete the preliminary registration process in advance. Due to the demand from the pandemic, scheduled appointments are preferred, but walk in services are available.
  2. Please enter the building at your scheduled appointment time. You will be asked to check-in at the kiosk. Please be prepared with your insurance card and driver's license.
  3. Once registration is complete, you will be asked to return to your vehicle. When your room is ready, you will be escorted to your sanitized exam room. All tests are administered onsite at NorthBay Urgent Care and include an examination.

To protect you and limit exposure guests are asked to remain outside the facility unless they are accompanying a minor child or patient with physical, intellectual, cognitive, and/or developmental disabilities. Masks are required prior to entry into urgent care and should be secured during the entire visit.

Note: please come prepared with a picture ID, insurance card and credit card to put on file to cover your co-pay.

  • Have Insurance?
    • Depending on your plan, your insurance provider may waive the co-pay for a test if the diagnosis comes back positive for COVID, but this is not always the case. We recommend calling your health plan directly to discuss how they handle COVID testing.
    • If your test comes back negative or you are diagnosed with anything else (strep/flu/sinus infection, etc.), a co-pay may be charged.
  • No Insurance?
    • You will be asked to complete a HRSA form of non-insurance. There is no charge if test comes back positive for COVID or if you have symptoms or a recent exposure.
    • $195-350 is the cash pay visit price if any other condition is identified.
  • Out of Network?
    • You will need to fill out our "out-of-network" form. Most insurance providers will cover the cost of the visit and test. However, individual insurance companies do vary and you may receive a bill.
    • Average test fees for out-of-network local labs are $150-200.

Once your results have been received by NorthBay Urgent Care, you will be able to view them in the Carbon Health app. If your test is positive, you will receive a call from NorthBay Urgent Care notifying you of the results. There will be no call if your test is negative.

If your symptoms persist, we urge you follow-up with your primary care provider. When this is not possible, NorthBay Urgent Care will see you for a full visit (billing and related charges will apply).
