Meet Seth Kaufman,
Executive Vice President, Chief Medical Officer and Chief Quality Officer
Dr. Seth Kaufman serves as NorthBay Health’s Executive Vice President, Chief Medical Officer and Chief Quality Officer. He provides executive leadership for clinical quality, patient safety, and care management across NorthBay Health’s two hospitals and extensive network of outpatient clinics. A board-certified Emergency Medicine physician, Dr. Kaufman has been part of NorthBay since 2005, previously serving as an Emergency Department staff physician and Medical Director.
Throughout his tenure, Dr. Kaufman has championed transformative initiatives that strengthen care delivery, including the adoption of telemedicine and AI-enabled clinical solutions designed to improve outcomes, expand access, and enhance operational efficiency. He also co-founded an urgent care network that later became part of Carbon Health, reflecting his longstanding commitment to healthcare innovation.
In addition to his clinical and administrative leadership, Dr. Kaufman remains deeply engaged in advancing NorthBay Health’s population health strategies, supporting the organization’s vision to be the trusted healthcare partner of choice for the communities it serves.
Dr. Kaufman earned his medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco, and completed his Emergency Medicine residency at the University of Chicago. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Emergency Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians.
