Joel Ambrosio, PA
Advanced Health Practitioner, GastroenterologyI joined the NorthBay Health Primary Care, Green Valley team in 2016 and have since transitioned to working with the Gastroenterology team. I work closely with the doctors to take care of patient’s health care needs. It is always our goal to provide patients with timely access to the best quality of care and I bring experience, compassion, and a commitment to providing the best possible care to all of my patients.
I began my medical career in the U.S. Navy as a medic before going on to graduate from the Stanford University School of Medicine Primary Care Associate Program. As a physician assistant, I also completed a master’s degree and a rigorous year of clinical training, often right alongside the medical students. A physician assistant’s training may be shorter compared to traditional medical school but it is nonetheless very challenging.
I have received training in multiple specialties such as gastroenterology, hepatology (liver disease), spine medicine and HIV/AIDS and have a passion for primary care. I enjoy building long-term relationships with patients and going through all of life’s milestones with them while providing high quality health care.
I embrace NorthBay Health’s use of a team approach to caring for our patients. I enjoy getting to know patients and following them through their medical conditions. Even the small victories, like getting someone to work on finding a solution to their problem, are very rewarding.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two children. I am active in my church and happily volunteer on medical mission trips to various parts of the world.

While we strive to keep this list up to date, it's always a good idea to check with your health plan to determine the specific details of your coverage, and to contact the provider's office to verify acceptance of your particular plan.
