Daniel Hartley, DNP
Orthopedics, Advanced Health PractitionerI never thought I’d have a career in medicine. In fact, I went to Northern Arizona University to study forestry. But in college, I went to a Campus Crusade for Christ conference that changed my life. It was there that I realized that I didn’t want to spend my career in the forest — I wanted to spend it with people.
As an orthopedic nurse practitioner, I enjoy spending time with patients and getting to know their physical, mental and spiritual needs. I see a wide range of patients, from high school students to the elderly. Hip and knee problems are most common.
I’m a good listener and I like hearing a patient’s story. My patients like that I’m continuously learning about the newest types of treatment plans for orthopedic problems. I also have a background in family practice, which is beneficial.
When patients leave appointments with me they know I’m their advocate. That’s the favorite part of my day. I want to get them the best care for whatever situation they are in. I’m on their side. They’ll know I’ll do whatever I can to help them achieve their health goals.
I still love being outdoors. When I’m not in the office, I enjoying kayaking, camping and snowboarding.
