Connie Northrup, weakened by her battle with breast cancer, wanted to return once more to a sense of who she was before she became ill.

The former African American beauty pageant winner was granted her wish. She received a full makeover, complete with a new dress, and makeup and afterward, posed for glamour shots with her mother and sister. NorthBay Hospice coordinated the effort with "dream makers" Laurie Gaines and Jim Inks who came to Connie's care home and provided her family with memories they'll treasure for the rest of their lives.

"God bless this program," said Connie's mother, Lu Hazzard. "Connie was actually able to have one last wonderful day, and we can't thank everyone enough."
